University of Kerbala Discussing Causes of Osteoporosis in Women

Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences – University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A. thesis which is entitled” The Relationship between Hypothyroidism and Osteoporosis Disease in Women”.
The study presented by Huda Hamza Kadhim. It aims at investigating the relationship between hypothyroidism and osteoporosis to assess their effect on some blood variables.
The study concluded a significant increase in potassium level in both diseases an increase in TSH, a decrease in T3, T4 and PTH in hypothyroid patients, and a significant decrease in vitamin D3 and hemoglobin in both diseases and an increase in white blood cells in both diseases, as well as a significant decrease in the level of estradiol in postmenopausal women of patients with osteoporosis compared to the control group.
