University of Kerbala Holds a Scientific Workshop on “the Impact of Students’ Use of ChatGPT on Their Research Skills”

College of Education for Humanities, University of Kerbala organizes a scientific workshop which is entitled “The Impact of Students’ Use of ChatGPT on Their Research Skills”.
The workshop, which is presented by Asst. Lect. Rose Mohammed Mahdi, Asst. Lect. Ebaa Al-Din Hussam Abbas, Asst. Lect. Ahmed Razzaq Azzawi and Asst. Lect. Karrar Haider Zaji, aims at exploring the impact of students’ use of artificial intelligence technologies, particularly ChatGPT, on developing their research skills, emphasizing the significance of using these tools responsibly. It highlights supportive role of artificial intelligence in improving students’ research skills without relying solely on it. It also stresses the need to avoid plagiarism and ensure accuracy of information provided by artificial intelligence before using it in academic research.
The workshop ends up with a focus on conscious and systematic use of artificial intelligence technologies that contribute to enhance students’ critical thinking and research abilities, which positively impacts quality of their academic output.
