University of Kerbala Holds a Symposium on Improving Transportation During Arbaeen Pilgrimage

College of Engineering, University of Kerbala organizes a symposium on transportation during Arbaeen pilgrimage, with participation of a group of professors and researchers.
The symposium, which is entitled “Transportation During Arbaeen Pilgrimage: Challenges and Prospects,” holds in cooperation with Karbala Center for Studies and Research, Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein.
Through a detailed discussion, the symposium deals with the most prominent obstacles facing pilgrims’ movement and possible solutions to improve transportation services during massive Arbaeen pilgrimage.
Dean of the College, Dr. Haider Nadhim, emphasizes that large numbers of pilgrims arriving in Karbala during pilgrimage present an increasing challenge to transportation sector. He points out that ensuring smooth traffic flow and safety of pilgrims are fundamental pillars for success of pilgrimage.
Being attended by President of the University, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, vice Assistants for administrative and scientific affairs, Dr. Jassim Al-Maamouri and Dr. Haider Muhammad Umran, Director of Karbala Center for Studies and Research, Abdul Amir Al-Quraishi, and Director of Traffic Directorate in the governorate, Brigadier General Haitham Al-Fatlawi, Dr. Nadhim states that the successful transportation during this massive event is a shared responsibility that requires cooperation and coordination among various governmental and non-governmental institutions.
