University of Kerbala Holds a Training Course on Legal Framework for Combating Violence Against Women

Being presented by Dr. Muhammad Hassan Kahat and Dr. Zahraa Al-Sultani, College of Law, University of Kerbala organizes a training course on “Violence Against Women: Legal Framework and Societal Impacts in Light of Islamic Law”. The course addresses legal foundations that criminalize violence against women in applicable legislation, in addition to highlight legitimate position that affirms dignity of women, explaining social and psychological effects resulting from this phenomenon and its negative repercussions .
The course aims at promoting community awareness, demonstrating the role of academic institutions in reducing manifestations of violence, and contributing to support family stability and consolidating human values derived from Islamic law.
