how to deal with it, the workshop, which has been presented by Dr. Fadhil Nemah Shalaba, highlights dimensions of the impact of social stigma within the university environment on shaping students’ personal identity, in addition to review its influence on shaping self-image and enhancing self-confidence.
The workshop defines the concept of social stigma and its negative effects on mental and psychological health of individuals and society. It also highlights severity of effects of this stigma and its impact on social isolation.
The workshop also explains how to combat this phenomenon by strengthening families’ roles, schools, and media in spreading awareness and promoting positive values.
