University of Kerbala Inventing a Patent entitled corrosion of carbon steel alloy in a solution Sulfuric acid using some organic dyes (Luxol Fast Blue, Methyl Violet, Cresol Red)

Dean of faculty of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hamida Aidan Salman, and the researcher (Maha Jassim Munshed) / faculty of Education for Pure Sciences / Department of Chemistry University of Kerbala have obtained a patent from Standardization and Quality Control Device /Ministry of Planning for the patent which is entitled (corrosion of carbon steel alloy in a solution Sulfuric acid using some organic dyes (Luxol Fast Blue, Methyl Violet, Cresol Red) .
The current subject includes electrochemical study of corrosion of carbon steel alloy, using dyes (Luxol Fast Blue, Methyl Cresol Red) as inhibitors with different concentrations of ppm (0-200) in a sulfuric acid solution with a concentration of (1) in a temperature range of (303-323). using a potentiostat device.
The effect of temperature and concentration on inhibition efficiency has been studied, the inhibition efficiency increased with increasing temperature and inhibitor concentration.

The patent consists of discussing experimental results obtained from slope of anodic and cathodic polarization curves or (Tafel) curves (BaBc), corrosion current density (LCorr), corrosion voltage (Ecorr), and the percentage of inhibition efficiency (E%).

The patent aims at showing that dyes that are used as inhibitors are effective and good inhibitors to prevent corrosion of carbon steel alloy under the experimental conditions used, with an inhibition efficiency of 94.10% for Luxol Fast Blue, 85.30% for Cresol Red, and 83.30% For dye methyl violet. As each of thermodynamic functions of the corrosion process (AGAH AS) have been discussed, as well as the thermodynamic functions of the activated complex (*AG, *AHAS*) and the adsorption isotherms of the dyes used as inhibitors,
