University of Kerbala has organized a campaign to plant different types of trees in various corridors and spaces of the university, in conjunction with “National Planting Day” launched by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani.
The afforestation process is supervised by a committee from Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, President of University of Kerbala Prof. Dr. Basim K. Nile, Vice president for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Akram Mohsen Al-Yasiri, and a group of professors and employees participated in the campaign.
Before starting afforestation process, Prof. Dr. Basim K. Nile accompanies members of ministerial committee on a tour to inform them of the latest work in field of improving environmental level, expanding green spaces, and regulating water use.
The high salinity of soil represents one of the most important problems facing agriculture at the university. Despite this, the university is able to increase green spaces in its various corridors.
