Being presented by Dr. Ali Hussein Abdul-Amir Al-Mankoushi, College of Education for Humanities holds a scientific workshop on “Intellectual Security and Countering Extremism,”
The workshop aims at enhancing students’ intellectual awareness and highlighting the concept of intellectual security and its importance in protecting society from extremist ideologies. It also addresses the role of educational institutions to disseminate a culture of moderation, forgiveness and confronting intellectual deviations using scientific and educational methods.
The workshop includes defining intellectual extremism and its causes, explaining its negative effects on individuals and society, and discussing ways to prevent it and the role of education and media in addressing it.
