Department of International Studies at Strategic Studies Center /: University of Kerbala has organized a training course on “Basic Concepts in Contemporary Strategic and Security Studies,” with participation of a number of security officers in state institutions.
The one-month course aims at developing the trainees’ strategic thinking skills and capabilities, as well as develop their research capabilities, and contribute to creating qualified professional staff, who can be given more responsibility to replace the retired leaders.
The course, includes training to develop participants’ awareness about contemporary security developments, and to understand the foundations and modern trends on which contemporary strategic and security concepts have been built, and also to benefit from academic human resources skills, experiences, as well as providing more opportunities for trainees to understand the close and strong relationship between practice and theory in the security and strategic field.
Director of the Center, Dr. Ahmed Kadhim Al-Yasari, says that this training program has a major role in developing knowledge and skills required by military officers and civil officials, as well as academics and workers in the field of international and diplomatic relations.
