University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A. Thesis on the Role of International Committee of the Red Cross

Faculty of Law – University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A. thesis which is entitles (The role of International Committee of the Red Cross related to armed groups’ compliance to international humanitarian law).
The study aims at knowing mechanisms used by International Committee of the Red Cross of armed groups’ compliance to international humanitarian law, in addition to identify obstacles and restrictions facing International Committee of the Red Cross during its role in enhancing armed groups’ compliance with international humanitarian law, whether at international or national level.
The study shows that armed conflicts are considered one of the most important causes of humanitarian disasters, and due to inability to reach a legal system that prevents their outbreak; International efforts have moved towards reducing the impact of these conflicts on humans and making them more respectful of humanitarian principles.
