Faculty of Veterinary Medicine / University of Kerbala has organized a training course entitled (Mummification) in cooperation with the Veterinary Hospital in Karbala, the Research Center of the Iraqi Natural History Museum/University of Baghdad and Faculty of Education for Pure Sciences/ University of Kerbala, with the participation of a number of researchers and participants and the tissue laboratory in the college.
The course includes two theoretical aspects, giving an overview of how to mummify various animals, training participants theoretically in mummification (method, materials and tools used) and how to work and shape the structures of the mummified animals in a way that makes them closer to their natural shape. The participants have been tested within an exam on the information of the theoretical aspect of the course.
Practically, it includes the mummification of a bird (Al-Qubj) and the work and formation of a structure for it. On the third and fourth day of the course, the focus is on the practical side.
