Faculty of Science – University of Kerbala has organized an electronic workshop on the role of the Iraqi legislator in protection of children.
The workshop aims at clarifying the Iraqi legislator’s imposition on the competent government agencies to protect the child’s rights of many challenges that he may face, such as child labour, violence, conflict, early marriage and others, as well as explaining a set of legislation, procedures, governmental and non-governmental programmes and methods social upbringing that aims at protecting the child and secure his interests. The workshop includes highlighting Iraq’s confirmation of the two international covenants of 1966, by Law No. 193 of 1970, Iraq’s confirmation of Convention on the Rights of the Child of 1989 approved by United Nations General Assembly, by Law No. (3) 1994.
