“University students attitudes toward cultural globalization and its relationship with religious values”

This study aims to identify the trends of the university students towards the cultural globalization, identify the statistical differences in the attitudes towards cultural globalization according to a variable: specialization (scientific – human) and the variable of sex (male – female), and to identify the religious values ​​among the students of the university, and identify Statistical differences in the religious values ​​ according to the variable of specialization (scientific – human), sex (male – female), as well as identify the relationship between the trends towards the cultural globalization and the religious values ​​among the students of the university

This research is limited to a sample composed of (400) male and female    students of scientific and humanitarian specialization in the first , second ,third and fourth stages of the University of Karbala of the academic year (2012-2013), were chosen by the stratified randomized way with the proportionate distribution.

     :In order to achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher

1-The researcher has built a scale of the trends towards the cultural globalization, which consists of three sub-fields, and has checked power of discrimination of the items in addition to the characteristics of psychometric of the scale and has conducted its Face Validity and Construct Validity as extracted stability in a way re-test using the Pearson correlation coefficient was also calculated stability using the Cronbach Alpha. The scale in its final form (56) items distributed on the sub-fields (domain behavioral, emotional, and cognitive domains)

2-The researcher has  adopt the scale of the religious values ​​of al- Khazraji (2006) its includes four fields, the (values ​​beliefs, and worship, and morals, and moderation) and the researcher has checked the power of discrimination  of the items in addition to the characteristics of psychometric of the scale as it has been extracted the Validity  in two ways: face virtual, and Construct Validity. The stability extracted in the following ways: re-test  and Cronbach Alpha equation. The scale will be in its final form (29) items valid for measuring religious values ​​of the students of the university

The researcher has applied the tow scales on the basic research sample, and after analyzing the data and processing statistically,by using the following statistical tests :t-test for a single sample ,t- test for two independent samples, Pearson correlation coefficient, chi square,t- test to test the link spirits. The present Research has conducted the following results;

*The university students attitudes toward cultural globalization has been positive

*There are differences in the trends towards the cultural globalization due to the variable of male sex and in favor of male.*There are differences in the trends towards the cultural globalization due to the variable of specialization and in favor of the scientific one.

The university students have a high level of religious values.                  *

*There are no differences of statistical significant in the level of the religious values of the students ​​attributed to the variable of sex or specialization .

In order to complete the usefulness of current research which represented by knowing the university students attitudes towards cultural globalization and its relationship to religious values the research has arrived to a number of recommendations and suggestion further studies Which are derived in the light of the results of the study.
