The current study contained The Opposite Dualities and their role in displaying opinions in the verse of Al Hedad Al Andalusi who is considered one of the famous poets in his time. His verse represented a reflection for an inconstant life which is called instability for this aspect that produced dualities reflected the reality that the poet lived. Duality forms an opposite relation between two opposite sides, that one relation combines them together (The Opposite Duality).
This relation that makes one side completes to the other side, there is no significance for one side in solation that carries contrast between two stands or cases. However, the poet is highly away of the opposite duals, the way of its adaptation to the text in accord to his vision, its poetic implications, and his creative philosophy towards life and its conflicts. This is alike the situation of Ibn Al Hedad Al Andalusi who lived a life full with contradictories of emotions. Thus, life pushed him to be complaining and blaming, that may lead him to consent or a part of it, making his wisdom and philosophy a deliverance for his life food for his career.
Our study which is entitled” The Opposite Dualities in the Collection of Ibn Al Hedad Al Andalusi ( died 480)” as a simple attempt to shed the light on the poet’s inspiration and on his understanding for life through displaying basic contradictories that attract the receiver and make him searching about answers for many of the poet’s inquiries. We relied in our study on analyzing the poetic texts included opposite duals, uncovering the most important adopted artistic and stylistic aspects in the poetic text and the extent of the poet’s success in their use.
This phenomenon represented Ibn Al Hedad on the structure level represented by strength/ weakness, light/ darkness, ego/ the other, external/ internal. Delight/ pain as well, opposite mechanism is one of the text production mechanism which forms a correlative texture by the various expressive and imaginative arts that support the opposite duals as simile, metaphor, metonymy, allegory, and rhetoric arts revealing their energies and granting them new directions.
So, oppositeness works to produce new relations with more openness to other text’s elements where every work has an end crowned with the most important results that the thesis implied.
