Cleanliness in Islamic jurisprudence، a study of contemporary issues

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the Prophet of mercy and his pure and virtuous family. Islam has emphasized cleanliness and considered it part of faith, as it has been mentioned in the noble hadiths: cleanliness is part of faith, and it is a condition for the validity of worship, as it is not accepted without purity. Cleanliness is a practice of the prophets and messengers that they adopted as a means of drawing closer to Allah, the Exalted. Given the importance of cleanliness in Islamic jurisprudence, it encompasses multiple dimensions, including personal cleanliness, which involves ablution, washing, and purification from impurities. It is a fundamental pillar for prayer and other acts of worship. A Muslim must wear clean and pure clothes and maintain the cleanliness of their surroundings, as well as the cleanliness of food and drink; because cleanliness plays a vital role in preventing infectious diseases and protecting the community from epidemics. Cleanliness also contributes to preserving the environment from pollution and helps in building a clean and healthy community. The research aims to review the jurisprudential concepts of cleanliness and its importance in Islamic law, and to clarify its contemporary rulings in applying the teachings of Islam in the field of cleanliness practically, especially in contemporary issues The study addressed the research problem by reviewing the proposed solutions in Islamic jurisprudence to face contemporary challenges regarding cleanliness, using descriptive and analytical methodology. Cleanliness and its modern means received significant attention in contemporary jurisprudence, similar to other emerging issues faced by the obligated individual, as the jurist rises to address new topics in cleanliness following the emergence of new means.
