A Research Team at the University of Kerbala Succeeds in Manufacturing a Respirator

A research team from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Kerbala is able to manufacture a respirator (KVENT) based on the self-efforts of the college professors.

The dean of the Faculty, Dr. Laith Shaker Rashid, coinciding with the directives of the presidency of Kerbala University in enhancing the role of the university in presenting ideas and embodying them realistically under the circumstances of the current health crisis that the country is witnessing as a result of the Coronavirus, research team at the University of Kerbala succeeds in manufacturing a respirator from local components to support hospitals in the face of the emerging coronavirus.

Dr. Rashid adds that the main motivation for the production of the device and local components for the high price of the imported device and the need for hospitals to provide large numbers and lack of financial capabilities for health institutions to purchase such devices to meet any possible cases to increase HIV infections

He  points out that the Faculty has set a previous plan to manufacture the device locally to confront the Coronavirus and reduce the risk of infection, because it is of great importance to provide such devices at the present time, since the virus causes respiratory infections that affect the lungs, so patients with it suffer from severe shortness of breath.  Indicating that the Faculty of Engineering continues to work as research teams to produce everything that contributes to supporting health institutions in our beloved country in light of the current crisis.
