Being attended by a number of professors, researchers and academic and researchers, Strategic Studies Centre, University of Kerbala holds a scientific symposium on “Mechanisms of Publishing in International Databases”.
The symposium includes a detailed presentation on mechanisms of rigorous scientific publishing in accredited international databases, particularly Scopus, which is considered one of the most prominent databases used to evaluate research output of both researchers and academic institutions.
It aims at familiarizing participants with steps of selecting reputable journals, mechanisms of verifying their accreditation in international databases, as well as explaining criteria of acceptance and peer review, and common errors researchers make during publication process.

The symposium also discusses the importance of publishing in internationally indexed journals in enhancing academic ranking of universities, raising level of scientific rigor of research.
