The University of Kerbala Conducts a Conference on Renewable Energy
The College of Sciences in Kerbala University conducted its sixth conference, which focused on the various applications of renewable energy and how it can be invested in Iraq. Over 100 researchers from different Iraqi universities and ministries participated in the conference. The president of the university Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi emphasised that renewable energy is one of the most important attempts that the world took to mitigate pollution. Furthermore, the president of the university indicated that the university is taking interest in such research area for its importance.
Dr. Munir also said that there is an agreement with an international publisher to publish the research articles presented in the conference so that the studies can be widely read and applied.
The dean of the College of Sciences Dr.Amir Abdulameer said that the conference is intended to discuss the challenges that face renewable energy in Iraq and the world.
Moreover, the conference also aims at reviewing the various resources of renewable energy as well as how to expand these resources by focusing on the various environmentally friendly energy sources, the correct use of energy, and discuss the most important research findings from around the world to expand our knowledge of renewable energy so that it can be applied appropriately according to the needs of Iraq.
The dean stated that the conference had several themes, which included Nano technology, green technology, light stimulators that are used in the applications of renewable energy, biofuel, wave energy, sustainable chemistry, solar energy, air energy, and the various algorithms used for energy saving.
The dean also said that the main reason for taking interest in this field is the environmental pollution that is produced from fossil fuels.
