University of Kerbala/ College of Education for Pure Sciences has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “The Role of Cellular Dynamics in the pathogenesis of Toxoplasmosis gondii among Aborted Women in Karbala Governorate”, submitted by Heba Iyad Hashem.
The study aims at investigating incidence of toxoplasmosis in women suffering from miscarriage and conducting immunological tests to diagnose the disease.
The study concludes that Toxoplasma gondii parasite is one of the most important parasites that causes miscarriage for infected women and may lead to congenital malformations of fetus or death of fetus, therefore it poses a great danger to pregnant women.
The study recommends the need to carry out guidance campaigns and wall posters to clarify life cycle of the parasite and methods of transmission, as well as adopting screening tests for parasite infection in primary health care centers for women and in hospitals.
