University of Kerbala Discussing an M.A Thesis entitled the Impact of Geographical Environment on Imam Ali’s Wars

 

Geographically, College of Education for Humanities, University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis which is entitled “Geographical Environment and Its Impact on Imam Ali’s Wars in Islamic Geography Books (35-40 AH) – A Historical Study.”
Being presented by Alia Hussein Ali, this thesis highlights geographical aspect of Imam Ali’s (peace be upon him) wars, and examines terrain and climate that played a significant role and influence on course of battles.
The study aims at shedding light on geographical influence and depth of battles fought by Imam Ali (peace be upon him) ( Battle of Jamal “Camel”, Siffin, and Nahrawan). It also focuses on strategic impact and geographical environment on outcomes of these battles.
The study includes three chapters. The first chapter deals with Battle of Camel and its geographical environment. The second one covered Battle of Siffin geographically. The third chapter explains geographical impact on military action in Battle of Nahrawan.
