University of Kerbala discussing an M.A Thesis “the Application of Banking governance in Iraq and its Role in Curbing the Phenomenon of Money Laundering”

The Faculty of Administration and Economics at the University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A thesis entitled” the application of banking governance in Iraq and its role in curbing the phenomenon of money laundering”.
The thesis, presented by the student Ghaith Salem Nayef, aims at identifying the concept of banking governance, its importance, objectives, characteristics, pillars and principles.
The discussion shows that banking governance is one of the concepts whose importance has increased in the business sector because of its great importance in managing banks and protecting the rights of shareholders, and the importance of adhering to appropriate supervisory procedures consistent with the rules of banking governance.
The discussion deals with the ways that banking governance has been used to address the phenomenon of money laundering, which has been increasing in recent decades. The process of combating and confronting the crime of money laundering in the world is an important issue, and the importance of this is clear in the fact that the crime of money laundering is of an international nature that transcends the national borders of countries represented in its penetration into financial and banking systems for many countries at the same time.
