Being presented by Mr. Kareem Mukhaif al-Jaafari, Dr. Zaid Kamil Jawad, Dr. Abbas Abdul-Ameer Taha, and Lect. Muhammad Muhammad Ajil Atiya, College of Education for Humanities, University of Kerbala, in cooperation with General Secretariat of Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, organizes a workshop entitled: “Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) in Martyrdom Balance: Philosophy of Sacrifice in Fatimid Jurisprudence”.
The workshop, coinciding with commemoration of Fatima al-Zahraa’ martyrdom, aims at achieving a number of key intellectual and cognitive objectives, most notably: highlighting the concept of martyrdom and clarifying its place in Islamic thought in general and Fatimid thought in particular; analyzing Lady Fatima al-Zahraa’ philosophy of sacrifice and patience linking it to contemporary ethical and human values; and manifestation her role in defending truth and justice and exploring the significance of her stances in shaping Islamic consciousness.
The workshop concludes scholarly interventions and discussions that enriched this issue, emphasizing necessity of cooperation between religious and academic institutions in serving knowledge and promoting awareness of authentic Islamic values.
