Faculty of Tourist Sciences / University of Kerbala has organized a training course which is entitled “Drugs and their negative effects” with participation of professors and students of the faculty and a number of specialists.
The course aims at educating participants to deal with phenomenon of drugs and increasing awareness to limit its spread in the university campus. They are a number of mechanisms used in developing deterrent solutions and studying the most important reasons that led to its spread among the community.
Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Makki Al-Rubaie, says that the faculty of Tourist Sciences / University of Kerbala has organized this course as it is one of institutions concerned with addressing the various problems of society, and based on ministerial directives in holding and combating this phenomenon.
Al-Rubaie adds that the course included a discussion of the most important negative effects of drug phenomenon, including economic effects, social effects, psychological effects, as well as health effects, and the most important methods used to get rid of its spread.
Participants in the course stress the necessity of cooperation in limiting the spread of this phenomenon and maximizing the role of the family to follow up their children properly and identifying the most important causes leading to drug abuse, and imposing strict penalties against drug abusers and traffickers by government agencies.
