Faculty of Law / University of Kerbala has discussed the M.A. thesis which is entitled(Criminal Provisions of Electoral Fraud: A Comparative Study). the thesis submitted by Safa Hani Musa, aims at introducing crime of electoral fraud by describing it as one of the serious crimes that affect integrity of the elections, as the legislator stipulated in Iraqi Parliament Elections Law No. (9) of 2020 to criminalize some forms of criminal behaviour related to it within electoral crimes, and the crime is characterized as not limited to electoral fraud that occurs on paper documents, but rather extended to electronic documents as a result of administration’s reliance on technology in recent elections.
The study concludes that the legislator does not explicitly stipulate the crime and limit it to some forms of criminal behaviour.
