تُعَدُّ دراسة المعجمات العربية واحدة من أبرز المجالات البحثية التي حظيت بعناية كبيرة من لدن العلماء والباحثين على مرِّ العصور؛ إذ ركّزت هذه الدراسات على تحليل بنية الكلمة المفردة من مختلف جوانبها، وقد أولى الدارسون عناية مخصوصة بتأليف المعاجم، إذ ارتبط ظهور هذه المؤلفات في العالم العربي بوصول الإسلام ونزول القرآن الكريم، الذي شكَّل الحافز الأساس لنشوء الكثير من علوم اللغة العربية، ومن بينها علم صناعة المعاجم، و أسهمت عوامل أُخر في تطور هذا المجال، مثل الاختلافات التي ظهرت في فهم معاني بعض الألفاظ وما قد يترتب عليها من تبعات خطيرة، فضلاً على انتشار الدين الإسلامي بين شعوب غير ناطقة بالعربية، لم تتمكن من فهم اللغة العربية إلا عن طريق التلقين والتعليم المنهجي، مما استدعى توافر معلومات دقيقة وشاملة تخصُّ ألفاظ العربية ومعانيها.
والفكر المعجمي العربي التراثي في جوهره ينطوي على طابع وظيفي واضح، سواء أكان ذلك من إذمفاهيمه أم مناهجه أم القضايا التي يعالجها، فإنَّ العلاقة بين الدراسة الوظيفية وهذا الفكر تمثل امتدادًا لجذور عميقة تتيح استثمار جهود علماء اللغة الذين أسسوا المعاجم اللغوية العامة، ولما كانت هذه المعاجم ترتبط بشكل وثيق بقضية الفصاحة، التي تعني الانحياز إلى سمات كلام العرب الأصيلة، فإنَّ الحاجة إلى المعاجم تظل قائمة ما دامت اللغة الفصحى حيَّة ومتداولة.
وفي هذا السياق تظهر أهمية متابعة العلماء للدراسة المعجمية العربية، فقد تنوعت تصنيفاتهم واختلفت جهودهم في تيسير هذا المجال، إلا أنه من اللافت أن معظم الدارسين العرب المعاصرين يركزون بشكل رئيس على ما قدّمه علماء المشارقة في هذا الحقل، متجاهلين -أو ربما متناسين- الإسهامات القيمَّة التي قدّمها علماء اللغة، فهؤلاء العلماء تركوا بصمة واضحة في مجال الصناعة المعجمية عن طريق جهودهم في التيسير والنقد والاستدراك والشرح والتلخيص والتعليق، ممّا يعكس غنى التراث اللغوي العربي وتنوعه .
ومن الجدير بالاهتمام أنْ نضيف إلى قائمة المعاجم المهمة معجم (العباب الزاخر واللباب الفاخر)، الذي ألفّه الحسن الصغاني المتوفى عام 650 هـ، ويُعَدُّ هذا المعجم احد أعظم الأعمال التي أُنجزت في مجال اللغة العربية بعد عصر معجم الصحاح للجوهري، ويتميز بثراء مادته اللغوية وغزارة مفرداته التي تفوق معظم المعاجم الأُخر إنْ لم يكن جميعها، بل يمكن القول إنَّ هذا العمل اللغوي لا يضاهيه معجم آخر من حيث شموله وعمق بحث مؤلفه، فقد كان الحسن الصّغاني شخصية بارزة في علم الحديث واللغة، ولقب بفخر الحُفَّاظ وعُمدة المحدثين وحجة العرب ولسان أهل العربية، الأمر الذي يظهر جليًا في إبداعه اللغوي.
ومع ذلك، يمكن القول إنّ هذا المعجم لم يحظ بالعناية والدراسة الوافية التي تلائم مكانته وثراء مضمونه، على خلاف ما حظيت به معاجم أُخر أقل منه أهمية أو شهرة، وعلى الرغم من مكانته المرموقة من ضمن مكتبة التراث المعجمي العربي، إلا أنّه لم يَنلْ ما يكفي من الاهتمام اللائق الذي يستحقه، ولهذا السبب انصب اهتمامنا على دراسة هذا المعجم، متوجهين نحو استكشاف مظاهر التيسير المعجمي الواردة فيه.

By displaying of some linguists’ opinions headed by Al Seghani, we found that our previous scholars started from a vivid target represented by facilitation to the users of those lexicons. They totally apprehended time and effort that the research requires to find the meaning of a particular word in language leicons. This evoked them to do their best to develop ways and style with more easiness and activity to reach meanings. Therefore, each school adopted special method in constructing the language vocabulary that it finds as the best and more suitable to simplify the search. They did not stop at that, rather they looked for additional devices for clarification as well as cultivation and verification to achieve the target meaning.
Based on this study, it is possible to reach a number of prominent results as the following.
1.Al Seghani’s abidance tackled the linguistic issues with a distinguished style. He had knowledge specialized with the linguistic aspects where he mostly started displaying these aspects and discussing them. His methodology was characterized with boldness in delivering unique opinions and sometimes independent, with his care in shedding the light on others’ opinions when he presented them in a book with a comprehensive and detailed way that contribute in generalizing benefit and carrying out the intended scientific targets.
2. Al Seghani’s style relied on an accurate methodological analysis in tackling issues. So, it balanced between supporting a particular stand sometimes and neutralism and objectivity another time. He did not hesitate in criticizing and objecting on some opinions when it was necessary. It is a crucial role in preferring the various views in a logical and mental form was one of the most prominent side in his work. He was mentioning the previous scholars’ opinions and fairly displaying them before reaching his final stand.
3. Al Seghani was unique when mentioned linguistic items that other linguistic lexicons scholars did not mention. This uniqueness made him a reliable source for these vocabularies for researchers and scholars who cited his writings and contributions in enriching the linguistic studies.
4. Citation references to Al Seghani varied where he depended on Holy Quran, honorable prophet Sunnah, Arab poetry and the proverbs that he took as a reference to clarify the use to limit meanings in his lexicon.
5. Al Seghani is considered one of the best scholars who were characterized with accuracy of transforming and text memorizing. He interested in affiliating them to their original owners. This granted his work a high reliability among scholars. He cared about documenting texts and accurately attribution them to whom they were attributed. This reflects his scientific trust and represent a live certificate to his punctuality in keeping information truth.
